Step It Up Sunday – Sheet Music Background Stamp

Did you see my Step It Up Sunday video last week? I hope you did. (If you missed it, just go to Video Tutorials above and find Step It Up videos.) Today is Sunday so the next video in the series is ready. Do you love the background stamp from the new catalog called Sheet Music? I’ve been anxious to use it and I think it turned out to be a good stamp to demonstrate how you can so easily step up a card from basic and lovely to a little more elaborate and WOW!

Here are the three cards together. Do you have a favorite?

Supply List Sheet Music Stepped Up Cards:

Both the Sheet Music stamp set and the Flourishing Phrases stamp set come in wood mount and clear mount. When it is a large background stamp, I prefer the wood mount. You can choose!

So, isn’t that easy? Remember, if you want to try your hand at step up cards, just send me some pictures and I may post your cards!

Hey Guys, Party With Cake!

I’m participating in a Blog Highlights Event today. The challenge was to make a masculine themed card. Party With Cake called out to me. I was inspired to go with the double Z fold card. I think that kicks this card up a notch.

Design Notes for Party With Cake Card:

The z fold card is really pretty easy.

  • Card base measures 4 1/4″ x 11″, score at 2 3/4″ and 5 1/2″
  • Second z measures 1 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, score at 4 1/4″ and 6 1/4″
  • Remember to adhere inside mats and DSP before you adhere the second Z.

The only really fancy thing I did was to add a touch of Wink of Stella to the tops of each candle.

Supply List for Party With Cake Card:

The Party With Cake stamp set will retire in just a few weeks so be sure to grab it up now. It is available in either Clear Mount or Wood Mount.

Got a little off schedule, so tomorrow will be Ribbon Share day!

Are You Ready for A Cool Treat?

When I created this card, it was rainy and damp. But, I have faith. I know that soon it will be warm and sunny and I will go looking for a cool treat, a tasty ice cream cone. In the meantime, I grabbed my Cool Treats stamp set and went to town.

The Sprinkles Embellishments on the ice cream are my favorite part. They are just so cute.

Design Notes for Cool Treat Card:

To create this fun fold card, just cut a piece of card stock at 5 1/2″ by 8 1/2″. Score and fold at 4 1/4″. Then, fold back the front piece at 1 1/2″.  I cut my Tasty Treats Specialty Designer Series paper at 2 1/2″ x 5 1/4″ and 1″ x 5 1/4″ OH, and don’t you love the Stitched Shapes ovals for the ice cream cone and it’s mat?

After I stamped the ice cream on the cone, I dabbed just the tiniest bit of Multipurpose Liquid glue and sprinkled some of Sprinkles Embellishments. I waited until the glue dried and just shook off the excess.

I used a sentiment from the stamp set for the birthday greeting.
