The daughter of a good friend recently graduated from college. I recall when she was born! How did that time go by? Anyway, I wanted to send her a graduation card and the Vertical Greetings stamp set caught my eye. I’m happy with how this just a bit non-traditional graduation card turned out.
Design Notes for Vertical Greetings Graduation Card:
Again, I seem to be into clean and simple cards. The only cute/clever thing about this card was how I colored the topiary. I used my Stampin’ Write Markers to add color directly to the stamp. A little huff before I stamped and it was done.
Here’s a link to a little video I created to show you this easy technique.
Oh, well I guess there was one other cute thing. I used a Real Red Stampin’ Blend to color a few Epoxy Heart Droplets. Isn’t that a cool trick?

Have you thought about becoming a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator? It does NOT mean that you have to hold classes or sell millions each year! What it does mean is that you can purchase whatever you want for 20 or even 25% off. It means you get to see and purchase items before everyone else. It means you can be part of a fun team. Call or email me if you have questions. I have many hobby demonstrators on my team. Want to be one too?

Well, the new catalog will go live in early June. That means it’s retirement time. There are so many great stamp sets that will be retiring. One of my all time favorites from the list is Bella & Friends. That little dog is just so cute! I checked back on my blog posts and found I’ve used it quite a few times. Here’s my latest, a card for a neighbor who just got a puppy.
This card was so easy to make. I stamped the puppy with Crumb Cake ink then used the Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends to add the color. I have to say, the puppy looks just like my neighbor’s new dog!
Here are some of the cards I’ve posted before using Bella & Friends stamp set.
A birthday card:
A get well:
For Back to School:
This thank you card was for National Puppy day, who knew?
This is probably my favorite card featuring Bella – a Christmas greeting.
Purchase List for New Puppy Card:
Be SURE to purchase Bella & Friends soon!
Here are links to the retiring list, both from the Occasions Catalog and the Annual Catalog.

Yes, always buy the BUNDLE! When items are bundled together in a catalog, you save 10%. This year these bundles are retiring. This list includes bundles from the Annual Catalog as well as this year’s Occasions catalog.
However, sometimes, the individual items are NOT retired but the BUNDLE price is going. So, if you notice on the retiring list, that the Bundle is retiring, now is the time to buy it! The items may be returning to the catalog, but, they are not sold as a bundle. So buy the bundle now and save 10%
Daisy Delight Bundle:
The Daisy Delight Bundle is an example. Both the stamp set, Daisy Delight and the Daisy Punch are returning to the new catalog but not as a bundle.
Here are some cards I’ve made using that bundle.
The post describing how I made that is here. Some other Daisy Delight cards were shown here, and here. I even have a video featuring this set here.
Hope you are having a fun Saturday. I’m off the New York City for a few days with some high school friends. We’re to see My Fair Lady, the Downton Abbey Exhibit and an opera, Tosca! Should be lots of fun!
Yes, I guess I was striving for tranquil today. In our community, they plant thousands of tulips in a variety of colors. They are just blooming now and yesterday morning I noticed some purple, plummy colored ones. So when I went to use the Tranquil Tulips stamp set, I gravitated to the Perfect Plum ink.
Here’s a picture of one of the tulip beds here that was my inspiration.
Now if only we’d get some warm, spring like weather.
Design Notes for Tranquil Tulips Card:
After I stamped the stems and tulips, I thought the Tranquil Tide card stock would make a nice background. However, against the Whisper White card stock, it just wasn’t working. I found a piece of the Naturally Eclectic Designer Series Paper that had just the right colors. The Petal Burst Embossing Folder gave the paper a little texture. Next, I used some Whisper White Classic Weave Ribbon. A Sponge Dauber helped me change it from Whisper White to Perfect Plum. If you have Whisper White ribbon, ink and daubers, you can have any color ribbon!
I added the “congratulations” sentiment from the Beautiful You stamp set but this card could fill in for lots of different occasions: birthday, thank you, even sympathy. I often leave the cards I make without a sentiment until I know what I need them for.
Supply List for Tranquil Tulips Card:
The Tranquil Tulips stamp set is a Hostess Set, That means you can only purchase it if you host a party or place an order of $150 or more. Study the Retirement Lists. You can probably come up with things you want to get to total $150 or more! Then, you can purchase the Tranquil Tulips set for just $10 with your Hostess Benefits!
Retirement is Calling:
Have you looked over the Retirement Lists? There are two lists for items that will no longer be available after May 31 (or while supplies last). One list is for items from the Annual Catalog and one is for the Occasions Catalog.
Annual Catalog Retired List-US
Occasions Catalog Retired List-US
Hope you are having a splendid, tulip filled day!
As you probably know, the new Stamin’ Up! catalog will go live on June 1st. In order to make way for all of the wonderful new things, something will be retired. And, by the way, I’ve seen the new catalog – get ready to be WOW’ed! There are lots of things that I know you will want to get before they are now longer available. I’ve posted links to the retirement list for the Occasions catalog OCC Retired List-US
and the Annual catalog. AC Retired List-US
Things to Remember about Retirment List:
Notice that some things are even on sale. Most importantly keep in mind that most of these items are “While supplies last.” this is especially true for the ink pads and refills. Another thing to keep in mind is that products that are bundled in the currect catalogs may be available in the new catalog but not at the bundled price. For example, Apron of Love will be continued in the new catalog but the Bundle price for the stamp set and Framelits will only be good until the end of May. here’s a card I made with Apron of Love.
Among the retiring stamp set bundles is Birthday Delivery. Both the stamp set and Framelits will retire. Here’s a card i made with that Bundle. (Oh, the paper is retiring as well.)
So, studfy the list cardfellu and let me know what you’d like to order. You can order directly through my 24-7 on-line store by clicking on the button below or email me with your order. ([email protected])
Don’t forget the host code for April, BDPHTPDQ.
