Come Sail Away with Scrapbooking

If you recall, last week I showed you a card I made using one of the cards from the Come Sail Away Memories and More card set. (You can see it here.) While I was scrapbooking the other day,  I used some of the materials from the card set and some others things from the Come Sail Away Suite. Here are two pages I put together.

Last December, my husband and I took a River Cruise on the Rhine River. What a wonderful trip! These two pages show pictures from an afternoon when we sailed the Rhine and saw lots of castles and charming villages.

Design Notes from Come Sail Away Scrap Book Pages:

I have to confess, I am not an organized scrapper. Many people, I think, start out with a plan or sketch for a page and go from there. I just play around with things till I think I like how they look. I knew I wanted to use some of the Come Sail Away Designer Paper and the Memories and More Cards. Because I used that paper, it was easy to determine coordinating colors for the mats for the pictures and journaling card.

I used the Lined Alphabet stamp set and White Craft ink for the title.

It was fun to use some Framelits to crop the pictures, Stitched Nested Labels Dies and the Layering Circles Dies.

I used some of the stickers from the Card set and one of the dies from the Smooth Sailing dies set.

Now, to finish a few more pages…..

It’s Not Just Scrapbooking Any More!

I love to scrapbook. It’s such a great way to recall happy memories and wonderful people. But, I admit, I spend most of my time card making. With the Come Sail Away Memories and More Card Pack, I can do either. The cards are a great way to enhance my scrapbooking or a quick way to create cards. Here’s a card I made for Father’s Day with one of the cards from that pack.

Design Notes for Come Sail Away Memories & More Card Pack:

I never know what to call this card fold. Sort of a gate fold with only half a gate? Anyway, I stamped a bit on the gate with one of the stamps from the Sailing Home stamp set. The center piece, “Happy Father’s Day”, is from the Card Pack. I  simply added a mat with some Mossy Meadow card stock then adhered it to the front flap. Next, I added some of the fun Baker’s Twine that is part of the Come Sail Away Suite. The final touch was to add one of the Sail Away Trinkets with a piece of Linen Thread.

The Card Pack is such a great resource to have around. The pack contains 50 – two sided cards and four sticker sheets. There are also 6 laser cut cards.

It’s on my To Do list to create a scrapbook page or two to show off these great cards. Look for it next week!

Scrapbook Sunday – Best Route Suite

Last weekend, was so much fun. I spend the weekend with a friend at a crop. That’s a weekend away – no cooking, no phones, etc, just time to scrap or work on projects. I did a bit of card making and some scrapping. I am finally getting to work on a scrap-book from the Mediterranean cruise I earned two years ago! When I scrap, I sometimes work sequentially. First day, then the second and so forth. For some reason I started out that way but then jumped to this page, the last day! Fortunately, there are no rules in scrapbooking. The Best Route Suite items were just perfect for this page.

Design Notes for Best Route Scrapbook Page:

Don’t you love the Best Route Designer Series Paper? It’s perfect for travel but also great for cards. I used one of the 12′ x 12″ sheets here as the backdrop for my page. A strip of Blueberry Bushel card stock down the middle. Well, confession time – I didn’t have 12″ x 12″ Blueberry Bushel card stock. There are really 2 4″ x 6″ pieces that meet under the ticket stub. I think the best part of the page is the column of planes down the middle. These are from the Best Route and More Card Pack. The journaling card is from the package too.

You may recall I used one of the other cards from this pack on Monday for a masculine card. You can see that here.
