Seaside Notions – My Newest Fav!

I’m not a faithful stamp lover. It seems my favorite stamp set changes from week to week. Oh well. This week my favorite stamp set is Seaside Notions. The image stamps are just delightful and the sentiment messages and fonts are great.

The idea for the frame is really part of a challenge. This week over at Global Design Project, the challenge is to CASE the Designer. I chose to use the layout elements from her card.

Design Notes for Seaside Notions Card:

The first thing I did when creating this card was to smear a bit of the Shimmery White Embossing Paste on the card front piece. Good to do this a bit ahead as it takes a few minutes to dry. Next I stamped the lovely sea horse. i realized I wanted two and used my Stamparatus to make the second, mirror image. If you look at the Stampin’ Up! catalog (page 139) they show you just how to do that. It’s easy! Really!

After I fussy cut the sea horses, I added a single shell to the front. Of course, I stamped some shells on the envelope.

This Little Piggy Brings Belated Greetings

Oops! I forgot a birthday. I hate it when that happens, don’t you? But, I got to card making and hope this cute card will help the receiver overlook the lateness.

I also made this card for this week’s Global Design Challenge. Be sure to click on the banner below to go over to their page and see all of the great cards with balloons.

Design Notes for This Little Piggy Belated Card:

Well, the piggy in the stamp set is holding a flower, but that didn’t stop me from adding balloons. After I colored him in with Watercolor Pencils and a Blender Pen, I cut it out – and cut off the flower and stamp. It was easy to then add some balloons, one stamped with a greeting from Itty Bitty Birthdays.

The fun part of this card was adding the clouds. Easy to do with some Shimmery White Embossing Paste and a Palette Knife. And, do you like the little kisses on the balloons? I think I just discovered that stamp!

Looking Above the Clouds for Graduation

Do you know someone who is graduating this month? Someone that you know will be very successful in life? Then you want to make them a special card. I made such a card with the Above the Clouds stamp set and Hot Air Balloon Punch.Above the Clouds stamp set, Hot Air Balloon Punch, #GDP194, Graduation, Stampin' Up!, diannescards.com

#GDP193

Design Notes for Above the Clouds Card:

Well, it doesn’t get much more basic than this. Stamps, ink, paper. Well, add one punch. I stamped off some Night of Navy ink for the background clouds. The hot air balloons were also stamped off before adding the frame or outline. After I punched them out with the Hot Air Balloon Punch, I popped them up on Dimensionals.

I also stamped a bit on the inside. Some more stamped off clouds and one of the great sentiments from the set.

The envelope also got a little stamping love.

Friendly Expressions Say Good Bye

Sometimes you just need to let someone know you are thinking of them, especially when things are not going well. I love to have some cards are hand to send for just those times. This card was pretty simple but the  sentiment from Friendly Expressions is just right.

Friendly Expressions stamp set, Delicate Lace Edgelits, Share What You Love Designer Series Paper, Thinking of You, Stampin' Up!, diannescards.com

I made this card for this week’s Global Design Project Sketch Challenge. Click on the banner below to see all of the other great cards for this sketch.

#GDP190

Design Notes for Friendly Expressions Card:

To be honest, this piece of designer paper was absolutely my last from the package of Share What You Love paper. I want to order more before it runs out, you should too!

I decided to use the piece of paper cut with the Delicate Lace Edgelits across the card even though the sentiment piece was not that long. It just seemed to balance out the card.

I added a little Wink of Stella to the heart and was done. (The heart was from the Dog Builder Punch – a handy punch to have!)

Life Is So Much Better With You In It

“Life is so much better with you in it.” Isn’t that a great sentiment? It’s part of the Petal Palette stamp set and it’s something I’m going to miss. Petal Palette retires soon and I wanted to make one more card before it departs.

I also wanted to create something with the fabulous color combination in this week’s Color Challenge over at Global Design Project. Just click on the banner to see the other cards and projects made with this fun color cimbination.

Design Notes for Petal Palette Card:

This was a pretty easy card to make! I used the Stamparatus to make sure the yellow pattern was even. Made it so easy! After that, I stamped the sentiment and then added some Gorgeous Grape Striped Ribbon. Then I recalled that I had three rose embellishments left from my Share What You Love Embellishments kit. Perfect! I added some stamping to the envelope and I was done.
