Thinking of You with Treat Time

I like to send a thank you note to each customer who purchases from me each month. Usually it is a Thank You card. This month I changed things up a bit and made it a Thinking of You card. I don’t write on the inside of the card so that they can later use the card themselves. So, perhaps the Thinking of You cad will come in handy.

Read a little further, you will see that I made two versions of this card.

Design Notes for Thinking of You Card:

I saw this card on Ronda Wade’s blog and really thought it was great. It’s a great showcase for the FREE Designer Paper, Botanical Butterfly. The butterfly adornment was punched out from the paper with the Butterfly Duet Punch, Love how these things work together. Unfortunately, the ribbon is no longer available. Here’s the second version of the card that I made.

I need to hold the card closed in this picture because the flap is a bit shorter than the card base. I like the way the flap is outlined by the other papers, don’t you.

Oh! It’s Punch Art Elmo!

A neighbor recently asked me to make a card for a little boy who was recovering from surgery. When I asked her to tell me what he likes, she mentioned Elmo. Well, I certainly didn’t have any stamps for that but knew I could probably piece together something using punches. What do you think? Elmo?

Design Notes for Punch Art Elmo Card:

Well, to be honest, Elmo is really a combination of punches and die cuts:

  • Hair: Lakeside Framelits, Basic Black card stock
  • Face: Layering Ovals Framelits, Pumpkin Pie card stock. I also used the Subtles Embossing folder to give it a little texture.
  • Mouth, (Trimmed) Layering Ovals Framelit, Real Red card stock
  • Ears: 1″ Circle Punch, Pumpkin Pie card stock
  • Nose: Layering Circles Framelits, Pumpkin Pie card stock (I laid the card stock on the Pumpkin Pie ink pad to darken it.)

Since green is the little guy’s favorite color, I used Call Me Clover card stock for the background and embossed it with the Seaside Embossing folder.

On the inside, I used Real Red ink and the En Route stamp set.

Broadway Bound Suite Birthday for Jerry

Yesterday was my husband Jerry’s birthday. He’s a pretty low key guy and doesn’t like a lot of fuss. That doesn’t mean “no card” however! I pulled out some products from the Broadway Bound Suite to make something special for him.

Broadway Bound Suite, masculine birthday, Broadway Birthday stamp set, Broadway Bound Specialty Designer Series Paper, Candle Embellishments, Stampin' Up!, diannescards.com

Glitzy but not over the top, right?

Design Notes for Broadway Bound Suite Birthday Card:

Simple but special… use specialty designer paper. I started by cutting two pieces of the Broadway Bound Specialty Designer Series paper and then used some of the gold piece for the Happy Birthday.

I added some of the Candle Embellishments. Nice but I still needed a little contrast. All it took was a little piece of ribbon.

Do you know about using Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets? Definitely a life saver when you are adhering things that are tiny or detailed like the Happy Birthday. Just add some of the Adhesive Sheet to the back of the paper you will be cutting. Go ahead and run through the Big Shot and then be happy when all you need to do is pull off the backing. Happy Dance!

Double Take – Eclectic Expressions

Oh, it’s a sad day. Tomorrow, Saturday, March 31, is the last day of Sale-A-Bration. It’s your last chance to get the Eclectic Expressions stamp set for FREE. When I started planning today’s post, I couldn’t decide if I wanted Sweet Sugarplum or Flirty Flamingo to be the primary color players. So I made two versions of the same card, Actually, both cards have a bit of both colors. Talk about indecisive.

Eclectic Expressions stamp set, Sale-A-Bration, birthday, Stampin' Up!, diannescards.com

This card is another entry into my personal “World’s Easiest card” competition.

Design Notes for Eclectic Expressions Cards:

For each card, I use either Flirty Flamingo or Sweet Sugar Plum to stamp the large circles. That color is also behind the sentiment and the mat beneath the main piece. The smaller dotted circles are stamped with the other color. I guess they are twin cards.

But here’s something you need to know. Yes, the stamp set won’t be available after tomorrow. But soon you won’t be able to get anything with Flirty Flamingo or Sweet Sugarplum. Oh the sadness. So, are you getting an idea? Yes, order what you want of those two colors before the retirement list is announced and they run out in the blink of an eye. So, spend $50 to avoid disappointment and then you can earn this stamp set. Yes, you are brilliant. I knew that.

Here are some things to choose from that feature these two great “in” but soon gone colors.

Thank You with Eclectic Expressions

There are so many great items available for FREE with Sale-A-Bration. Somehow, this set, Eclectic Expressions got past me. I’ve only used one of the sentiments here but there is a lot to love in this set. I pulled it out to create some thank you cards for my customers but I know it will see more ink soon!

Eclectic Expressions, Sale-A-Bration, Thank you, Eastern Palace Specialty DSP, Tailored Tag Punch, Stampin' Up!, diannescards.com

This card is definitely in the running for easiest card ever!

Design Notes for Eclectic Expressions Thank You Card:

Can you tell that I just received the Tailored Tag Punch. It’s really a fun punch. I used it behind each of the sentiments. Because the sides are straight, it’s easy to just shift the paper up or down to form a background. For the center one, I cut the background piece in half.
