Hope you are having a great weekend.
Yesterday I spent the afternoon with my friend and fellow demonstrator, Janet. We talked and worked on stamping projects. I pulled out my previously neglected December Paper Pumpkin, Flora and Flutter. What a fun kit! I got to make 8 cards. It took a little longer than it might have had we not been talking and laughing! What a great afternoon! Here are two of the cards. The kit contains materials to make 4 of each.
I made mine all thank you since I needed a bunch of thank you cards for my generous friends! There are some other great sentiments in the set like “Happy Birthday” and “Have a Great Day”. I have to say, the picture does not do them justice. There is Glimmer Paper in the background and they just sparkle!
Are You a Paper Pumpkin Subscriber?
Paper Pumpkin is a kit that comes right to your door each month. The cute box contains everything you need to complete the projects. Most months the projects are cards but sometimes it’s a home decor items or some treat holder. But it is always fun!
The kit comes with written directions and pictures. In addition there is always a video available to show you exactly how to put every thing together. On top of that, there is a Pinterest page showing you alternate things to create with the kit materials. Very often there are extra materials in the kit. Put them together with some of your own things. Here’s a little Post-It note holder I made with this month’s extra goodies. All I needed to add was a scrap of Lemon Lime Twist cards stock and a 3″ x 6 1/2″ piece of Crumb Cake card stock.
One of the things I like best is the fact that you get a photopolymer stamp set each month to add to your collection. I have mine in a special binder (see this blog post). Each month you also get an ink spot. At the end of a year, you have at least 12 different ink spots. (Some months you get two inks.) In no time at all, you’ll have a variety of stamps and ink to use on other projects. In addition, your first kit includes a free clear stamping block that you’ll use every month.
So, doesn’t this sound like something with your name on it? If you’d like to subscribe, you can get a one-month at a time subscription, a three month, six month or one-year subscription. Just click on the image below to subscribe through me. (Thanks! 🙂 ) You can discontinue the one-month subscription at any time. You can see that you save money with the 3 month, 6 month, or one year subscription.
If you subscribe through me, I will send you a Pierce Mat. Since each Paper Pumpkin kit contains clear, photopolymer stamps, it’s a good thing to use a pierce mat to get a nice, clear image with those stamps.
Have a great day!
I’m both behind and ahead with this project. The September Paper Pumpkin Kit, Layered Leaves is a terrific one. I almost immediately made up the pillow boxes and filled them with little treats for my November card class folks. The cards sat somewhat neglected in the box. Then I had an inspiration… use the note cards as place cards for Thanksgiving dinner! We also attend a large community dinner and have eight people at our table so it worked out perfectly!
Most of the items on the cards were in the kit. The only thing I added were the pieces of paper with the names.
Design Notes for Layered Leaves Place Cards:
I pretty much assembled the cards according to directions. I punched out banners for each name, wrote the names then sponged around the edges with some Cajun Craze Ink. The top leaf is gold foil and I wanted to add just a bit more shine. So, I just punched out another banner from some Gold Foil Card Stock and backed the name piece with it. Done.
Supply List for Layered Leaves Place Cards:
Thanks to all of you who voted for my card last week over at Kylie Bertuccis’s Internation Blog Highlights. I had the most votes! So next month, I will be in a Blog Hope next month.

This is what was leftover from this month’s Paper Pumpkin kit, Giftable Greetings. (I forgot to take a picture before I made the extra cards. As you can see, there are still a lot of good things left!)
Most every month, after I complete the project in the Paper Pumpkin Kit, I have lots of great leftover. Of course there are always the stamp set and the Stampin’ Spot (ink). But there is almost always some great things I didn’t use. This month’s kit was no exception.
The August kit came with materials to make some Congratulations cards and some Thank You cards. This month, the kit also included the most adorable gift box! (I just realized I forgot to add a leaf and flower to the tag. My bad.)
One of the stamps included was “With Much Sympathy”. So, I used it, added a bit of card stock and used up some of the leftovers to create these three cards.
Design Notes for Extra Cards from Giftable Greetings:
I used some Pool Party card stock and used the flower stamp from the kit. I stamped off before stamping on the card stock to give it a more subtle look. The coral striped ribbon and the Night of Navy Twine were left over from the kit. I used some Night of Navy Crinkled Seam Binding on the other card.
Here’s a little video from Paper Pumpkin. You can see the box better in this video!
