Are you thinking that the gift bag has a little smile? Sorry to disappoint. I decorated some gift bags with materials left over from this month’s Paper Pumpkin kit, A Little Smile.
Here’s a peek at this month’s Paper Pumpkin kit.
It was so much fun to put this kit together. And, as usual, I had some great things left over!
Design Notes for A Little Smile Gift Bags:
The most fun part of the bag was creating the sand for the beach chair. I used some Shimmery Embossing Paste. I mixed some of the paste with of few drops of Crumb Cake ink on a Silicon Mat. Voila! Sand! The cute palm tree, and the shells were from the Paper Pumpkin kit.
On the tags, I used just a scrap of paper from the Come Sail Away Designer Series Paper. Again, I used some left over shells and linen thread.
As much as I enjoyed making the darling cards from the Paper Pumpkin kit, I love challenging myself to make something creative with the bits that are left over!

This month’s Paper Pumpkin kit is called Frights and Delights. It is really cute. You get to decorate tags for little treat bags. Each kits contains enough materials for 24 treat bags!
To be honest, the bags are really a little bigger than I thought. I put in six miniature Hersey bars and it really can hold more! I made up all of the bags but didn’t have nearly enough candy to fill them. Back to the store!
One of my favorite things to do with my Paper Pumpkin kits each month is to create something from the left over materials.
Frights and Delights Left Overs Project!
This time I took the left over stickers and twine and used some Graceful Glass Vellum to create a little votive candle holder.
Here’s the other side.

Oh my gosh. Yesterday it was nearly 100° outside. I was glad to have such a fun project to work on. I’ve probably said this before, but… I LOVE this month’s Paper Pumpkin kit. The cards are just beautiful. The stamp set is terrific and the Ink Spot is one of my favorite colors, Blackberry Bliss. And did I mention the envelopes? Fabulous! Blissful Blooms is a winner. Here are some of the cards I made.
The kit contains enough materials to make 10 cards. The cards above are pretty much along the lines of what the directions suggested. I might have made a little change up here and there!
Here’s a video from Stampin’ Up to show you how easily the cards go together.
Design Notes for Alternate Blissful Blooms Cards:
I put aside two of the card bases and then cut them down to 4″ x 5 1/4″. After that it was pretty easy.
First I mounted both of the card fronts on a Blackberry Bliss Card Stock base. On the Thinking of you card, I stamped a bird from the Painted Glass stamp set. Next, I added some color to the bird by using a Blender Pen and some ink from the Blackberry Bliss Ink Spot.
On the other card. I added a butterfly from the same stamp set. The butterfly then got dressed up with some Wink of Stella, Because I had stamped the butterfly with regular ink, the color bled a little when I applied the Wink of Stella. That’s the effect I was looking for!
And one of my favorite parts of this kit are the beautiful envelopes. No work needed to dress these up!

One of the things I enjoy the most about Paper Pumpkin is taking the ‘left overs’ and creating something new. There are always some fun things left over after putting the kit together. This month was no exception. Earlier this week, I showed you what I made with this month’s Picnic Paradise kit. (See that post here.) Yesterday, I looked at my pile of goodies and was quickly inspired.
And, would you believe it, I still have a few things left!
Design Notes Picnic Paradise – Remix:
To create both the card and the tags, I really used very little other materials. I used Whisper White card stock for both. The flower on the card was created using the Daisy Punch. I just took all of my left over blue plaid tissue and punched out about 8 flowers. I punch one daisy out from Whisper White card stock then glued the others, one on top of another. Next, I placed a Glitter Enamel Dot in the middle. The jar that the flower is in is one of the little tags that were included in the kit, turned upside down. The stem was a piece of left over basket material.
The tags were even easier! The Scalloped Tag Topper Punch seems to instantly make any 2″ piece of card stock into a tag. I stamped “For You” and glued down some of the left over fruit. They needed just a bit more color so I added some Blueberry Bushel Ribbon to the top.

This month’s Paper Pumpkin Kit, Broadway Star, is absolutely stellar! I started making the cards, which are great. Then I was inspired to use some of the materials for my Stampin’ Up! events scrap book.
Aren’t they fun!
I am so happy with my scrapbook pages. Every Stampin’ Up! event is a celebration so the bright colors and celebration theme work perfectly. here are my scrap book pages.
Can you pick out the things I used from the kit? I did give you a few hints.
I used just a few other things.
