A Little Shimmer Paint

I seem to be stuck on copper these days. But why not? It’s all so beautiful. Today’s card, which is part of Kylie Bertucci’s International Blog Hop, features lots of copper elements. My favorite is the Copper Shimmer Paint.

Design Notes for Shimmer Paint Card:

Yes, it’s true, another Diagonal Tri-fold card. I do love this fold. After making the base, I cut a piece of Copper Foil, 4″ x 5 1/4″, then cut it on the diagonal. The next piece, Merry Merlot, was cut at 3 3/4″ x 5″. Then I embossed it with the Tin Tile Dynamic Embossing Folder. The next step was to use the Copper Shimmer Paint with a Sponge Dauber and lightly highlight the design. Finally, I cut the piece on the diagonal and added it to the card front.

For this Tri-Fold, I decided to use a belly band to keep it closed. I made it with some Copper Foil and Merry Merlot & Copper Reversible Ribbon. I added the bow after I wrapped it around the card. The sentiment is from the Friendly Expressions stamp set. The inside is pretty simple, just a sentiment.

Oh No! (In Large Letters!)

Have you ever missed someone’s birthday? Maybe even someone who’s birthday you should not have missed? It feels awful. You just want to smack your head and wail, “Oh no!” and “Sorry!” Well that’s what today’s card does. I used Large Letter Framelits to say exactly all of that!

Today is also the day for Kylie Bertucci’s International Blog Hop. I am so thrilled to participate! I know you will want to visit all of the other stops on the hop.

Design Notes for Large Letters Belated Birthday Card:

For this card, I used both the Large Letter Framelits to create the eclipse effect and I also stamped the letters with the coordinating Letters for You stamps. I nudged out of my comfort zone just a bit by stamping the letters on Twinkle, Twinkle Designer Paper (I hardly ever stamp on anything but card stock. WHY, I wonder?) To make sure that everything was properly aligned, I used the Stamparatus.

Practice run with letters to make sure they are aligned correctly!

After stamping the letter, I cut them out with the Framelits. The I cut the letters out again from Night of Navy card stock and backed the stamped letters. After popping the letters up with Foam Adhesive Strip, it was easy to place them in the proper places.

I stamped the inside with sentiments from the Sorry For Everything stamp set.

Did you notice the card is not a standard size? Of course, I made an envelope! Such fun.

Congrats and Keep Crafting Forever

It’s always fun to make a Congratulations card. I have a downline who is close to promoting. I want to be ready with congratulations!  The Crafting Forever stamp set was a natural choice for this card.

Design Notes for Crafting Forever Card:

Well, I had fun with some of my favorite products when I made this card. First, I heat embossed the sentiment and the pot of brushes – always a fun time for me. Then I used Stampin’ Blends to color in the brushes. But, my newest fun item also showed up. I used some of the Shimmer Paint on the card stock. You may know that many of the sheets of paper in the Share What You Love Specialty Designer Series Paper pack have a pearl finish. I love that. However, I realized that the two papers I chose for this card did not have the pearl finish. Shimmer Paint to the rescue. Shake, dauber – pearl finish! Now I have Pearly paper whenever I want with the swish of a dauber.

I also added some of the Designer Paper to the inside and to the envelope.

The blog hop begins tonight at 8 PM.

Design Notes for Blended Seasons Card:

I don’t know what it is about fall, the crisp cool air, the beautiful color of the leaves, or the feeling of a new beginning but, I believe that fall is my favorite season. So, I love making fall cards and projects. For this card, I started with using some copper heat embossing to outline the leaves. I colored them by using an Aqua Painter and ink from the ink pads. Next, I cut out the leaves with one of the Framelits from the Stitched Season Framelits set. Can you see the stitching around the leaves? For the background, I chose some Pumpkin Pie card stock and embossed it using the Subtle Dynamic Embossing Folder. I wanted to bring out the texture a bit so I sponged with some Cajun Craze ink. The extra leaf and the frame around the leaves are cut from Copper Foil.

A Serene Garden for My Friend

My good friend is going through a tough time. Her husband has been ill and recovery seems to be a long road. I thought I’d make her a card to show her I’m definitely on her side! I love the new Serene Garden stamp set and thought it was perfect for this kind of card. Today I am also participating in Kylie Bertucci’s International Blog Hop. The theme is encouragement. So it all worked out!

Serene Garden stamp set Aqua Painter, Stampin' Up!

Don’t you love the colors in this card?

Here’s the information about the Blog Hop.

I know you will want to check out the other wonderful card and projects in this hop. Here’s the list.

Design Notes for Serene Garden Card:

As soon as I saw this stamp set, I thought it just called out for using Aqua Painters. I first stamped the image using Memento ink on a piece of  Watercolor Paper. Watercolor Paper is just the best thing to use with Aqua Painters. It’s thicker and has a nice texture. No curling or warping with this paper. I like to use Aqua painters because if I have and ink pad, I can use that color. As much as I love the Stampin’ Blends, I have lots more colors of ink pads than I do Blends.

When I wanted to add a ribbon, I didn’t have the right color, so I just used a sponge and ink pad and changed the color of the White Ribbon. Easy!

Hope you are having a good day. Remember to check out the other sites on the blog hop! You won’t be sorry.
