Country Floral is Part of My Story

Welcome to my Blog! Today I am participating in Kylie Bertucci’s International Blog Hop. For the hop, everyone was to make something with the theme of encouragement. I used the Country Floral Dynamic Embossing Folder and the Part of My Story stamp set to create a card for a friend is need of a little boost.

Thanks so much for voting for my card a few weeks back. I did land in the top ten!

Design Notes for Country Floral Card:

Earlier this month, I used this folder in my card class. We sponged the inside of the folder with some Petal Pink ink to create a lovely, soft background for the card front. Everyone loved it! Here’s a little peek at that card.

To create this background to enhance the folder impressions, all you need to do is to use a brayer and add  some ink to the inside of the folder. For today’s card, I used VersaMark and heat embossed with Gold Heat Emboss Powder.

The card front really didn’t need too much more once I heat embossed! I added a piece of Gold Foil Paper behind the sentiment from part of My Story stamp set and just the tiniest bit of bling. The ribbon on the top added a little bit of softness. Really, a pretty easy card.

OH, here’s a little tip. Whenever you are adhering a piece of card stock that has been embossed, be sure to use lots of adhesive or you can use Tear & Tape, as I did on this card. It will not fall off!

Bella and Friends Say Get Well

Hello! Welcome to my blog! Maybe you are a regular reader or perhaps you are stopping here while hopping along Kylie Bertucci’s International Blog Hop. Either way, I hope you like the card I’m showing today. A friend recently had to undergo a procedure and I wanted him to know I was thinking of him and hoping he’d be better soon. What better way than to have a hello from Bella and Friends!

The theme for this month’s hop is encouragement. I know you’ll want to continue along the hop and see all of the great projects with this theme.

Design Notes for Bella and Friends Cards:

I truly believe that you can’t make a bad card with the Bella and Friends stamp set. If you read my blog regularly, you know that I use that stamp set quite a bit! This one was pretty simple. I stamped Bella with some Memento Black ink and colored in the image with some Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends. A little red heart added just the right pop of color. For the background, I used the Seaside Embossing Folder. It had probably been a day or two since I’d done any heat embossing and I needed my heat embossing fix. So, the “Hello” sentiment was heat embossed and then punched out with the Darling Label Punch. The “Hello” is from the Darling Label Punch Box stamp set.

A Little Shimmer Paint

I seem to be stuck on copper these days. But why not? It’s all so beautiful. Today’s card, which is part of Kylie Bertucci’s International Blog Hop, features lots of copper elements. My favorite is the Copper Shimmer Paint.

What’s your favorite copper element?

I know some of you are coming from other sites. I hope you will continue to hop along and see all of the great projects. Just click on any of the links below.

Design Notes for Shimmer Paint Card:

Yes, it’s true, another Diagonal Tri-fold card. I do love this fold. After making the base, I cut a piece of Copper Foil, 4″ x 5 1/4″, then cut it on the diagonal. The next piece, Merry Merlot, was cut at 3 3/4″ x 5″. Then I embossed it with the Tin Tile Dynamic Embossing Folder. The next step was to use the Copper Shimmer Paint with a Sponge Dauber and lightly highlight the design. Finally, I cut the piece on the diagonal and added it to the card front.

For this Tri-Fold, I decided to use a belly band to keep it closed. I made it with some Copper Foil and Merry Merlot & Copper Reversible Ribbon. I added the bow after I wrapped it around the card. The sentiment is from the Friendly Expressions stamp set. The inside is pretty simple, just a sentiment.

Oh No! (In Large Letters!)

Have you ever missed someone’s birthday? Maybe even someone who’s birthday you should not have missed? It feels awful. You just want to smack your head and wail, “Oh no!” and “Sorry!” Well that’s what today’s card does. I used Large Letter Framelits to say exactly all of that!

Today is also the day for Kylie Bertucci’s International Blog Hop. I am so thrilled to participate! I know you will want to visit all of the other stops on the hop.

Design Notes for Large Letters Belated Birthday Card:

For this card, I used both the Large Letter Framelits to create the eclipse effect and I also stamped the letters with the coordinating Letters for You stamps. I nudged out of my comfort zone just a bit by stamping the letters on Twinkle, Twinkle Designer Paper (I hardly ever stamp on anything but card stock. WHY, I wonder?) To make sure that everything was properly aligned, I used the Stamparatus.

Large Letter Framelits, Belated birthday, Stamparatus, Stampin' Up!, diannescards.com

Practice run with letters to make sure they are aligned correctly!

Large Letter Framelits, Belated birthday, Stamparatus, Stampin' Up!, diannescards.com

After stamping the letter, I cut them out with the Framelits. The I cut the letters out again from Night of Navy card stock and backed the stamped letters. After popping the letters up with Foam Adhesive Strip, it was easy to place them in the proper places.

I stamped the inside with sentiments from the Sorry For Everything stamp set.

Did you notice the card is not a standard size? Of course, I made an envelope! Such fun.

Congrats and Keep Crafting Forever

It’s always fun to make a Congratulations card. I have a downline who is close to promoting. I want to be ready with congratulations!  The Crafting Forever stamp set was a natural choice for this card.

Crafting Forever stamp set, Share What You Love specialty DSP, Frost White Shimmer Paint, Stampin' Up!, diannescrds.comToday I am part of a Blog Hop! (Thanks for your votes!)

Design Notes for Crafting Forever Card:

Well, I had fun with some of my favorite products when I made this card. First, I heat embossed the sentiment and the pot of brushes – always a fun time for me. Then I used Stampin’ Blends to color in the brushes. But, my newest fun item also showed up. I used some of the Shimmer Paint on the card stock. You may know that many of the sheets of paper in the Share What You Love Specialty Designer Series Paper pack have a pearl finish. I love that. However, I realized that the two papers I chose for this card did not have the pearl finish. Shimmer Paint to the rescue. Shake, dauber – pearl finish! Now I have Pearly paper whenever I want with the swish of a dauber.

I also added some of the Designer Paper to the inside and to the envelope.
