It’s always fun to make a Congratulations card. I have a downline who is close to promoting. I want to be ready with congratulations! The Crafting Forever stamp set was a natural choice for this card.
Today I am part of a Blog Hop! (Thanks for your votes!)
Design Notes for Crafting Forever Card:
Well, I had fun with some of my favorite products when I made this card. First, I heat embossed the sentiment and the pot of brushes – always a fun time for me. Then I used Stampin’ Blends to color in the brushes. But, my newest fun item also showed up. I used some of the Shimmer Paint on the card stock. You may know that many of the sheets of paper in the Share What You Love Specialty Designer Series Paper pack have a pearl finish. I love that. However, I realized that the two papers I chose for this card did not have the pearl finish. Shimmer Paint to the rescue. Shake, dauber – pearl finish! Now I have Pearly paper whenever I want with the swish of a dauber.
I also added some of the Designer Paper to the inside and to the envelope.
Here are the links to other stops only the way. You are sure to see some other great cards and projects.

I am sure you have seen some things made with the new Blended Seasons Bundle. It’s only available for a short time (until August 31 or while supplies last). Today I am participating in a blog hop where all the hoppers are using this great stamp set and Framelits Bundle. Here’s my contribution.
Here’s a look at the Colorful Seasons Bundle. The possibilities are unlimited!
The blog hop begins tonight at 8 PM.
Design Notes for Blended Seasons Card:
I don’t know what it is about fall, the crisp cool air, the beautiful color of the leaves, or the feeling of a new beginning but, I believe that fall is my favorite season. So, I love making fall cards and projects. For this card, I started with using some copper heat embossing to outline the leaves. I colored them by using an Aqua Painter and ink from the ink pads. Next, I cut out the leaves with one of the Framelits from the Stitched Season Framelits set. Can you see the stitching around the leaves? For the background, I chose some Pumpkin Pie card stock and embossed it using the Subtle Dynamic Embossing Folder. I wanted to bring out the texture a bit so I sponged with some Cajun Craze ink. The extra leaf and the frame around the leaves are cut from Copper Foil.

My good friend is going through a tough time. Her husband has been ill and recovery seems to be a long road. I thought I’d make her a card to show her I’m definitely on her side! I love the new Serene Garden stamp set and thought it was perfect for this kind of card. Today I am also participating in Kylie Bertucci’s International Blog Hop. The theme is encouragement. So it all worked out!
Don’t you love the colors in this card?
Here’s the information about the Blog Hop.
I know you will want to check out the other wonderful card and projects in this hop. Here’s the list.
Design Notes for Serene Garden Card:
As soon as I saw this stamp set, I thought it just called out for using Aqua Painters. I first stamped the image using Memento ink on a piece of Watercolor Paper. Watercolor Paper is just the best thing to use with Aqua Painters. It’s thicker and has a nice texture. No curling or warping with this paper. I like to use Aqua painters because if I have and ink pad, I can use that color. As much as I love the Stampin’ Blends, I have lots more colors of ink pads than I do Blends.
When I wanted to add a ribbon, I didn’t have the right color, so I just used a sponge and ink pad and changed the color of the White Ribbon. Easy!

Today I am participating in a blog hop with the Try Stampin’ on Tuesday website. The theme is masculine cards. Aren’t we always looking for great cards for men? This is sometimes hard when we survey our stamp sets and see LOTS of flowers! But, I think you will be really happy when you see all of the cards in this hop. Here’s my entry. You’ll see, lots of Tranquil Tide!
Here is a list of other stops along the Hop. (Some may not be live until later today, Monday, May 28.) I hope you will visit the other stampers and see what they have prepared. I know you will get lots of great ideas!
Design Notes for Tranquil Tide Card:
To be honest, this is one of the easiest cards I’ve made in a long time! The background is not stamped. It is a piece of the Tranquil Textures Designer Series Paper. I cut two pieces of card stock, one Fresh Fig (1 1/2″) and one Tranquil Tide (2″) and used the Triple Banner Punch to add the flags at the end. The sentiment, from the new Detailed with Love stamp set, is stamped with Tranquil Tide ink and also flagged with the Triple Banner Punch. The final touch was to wrap a piece of Burlap Ribbon around the card front pieces and tie it with a strand of the burlap. That’s about it!

Today is the blog hop. Remember that a few weeks ago I asked you to vote for my card? We’ll I landed in the top ten so today I am able to participate in Kylie Bertucci’s International Blog Hop! The theme of the hop is love. I am so fortunate to have some wonderful friends that I love dearly. In a few days, I’ll get to see some of them in Hartford at the Stampin’ Up! event and then I’m visiting in Massachusetts to see more friends. I thought the sentiment from Window Shopping was perfect to show my love and appreciation.
You really have to go and see all of the other great cards. I know you will be inspired!
Design Notes for Window Shopping Card:
I think gate fold is one of the easiest and cutest fun fold. I just add a tiny mark at the top of the page at the 4 1/4″ mark then fold in each side to meet at that mark. Easy, right? And did you notice that I used some more of the beautiful Eastern Palace Specialty Designer Series Paper? I’ve been working on overcoming my hording ways. Both papers are from that package. i like how the piece behind the sentiment introduces the Lemon-Lime Twist color. A good excuse for me to add some Lemon Lime Twist Ombre Ribbon.
