Do You Hear Wedding Bells?

The son of one of our neighbors is getting married soon. I wanted to make a special wedding card and knew that Woven Heirlooms stamp set would be the way to go. What do you think?

Design Notes for Woven Heirlooms Card:

As you can see, I used a bit of copper heat embossing on this card. The wedding invitation had copper so I thought it would work well. The sentiment is heat embossed as are both of the borders on either side of the sentiment layer. Do you recognize that paper? It’s from the Woven Threads Designer Series Paper. I did something I hardly ever think to do, that is to emboss on designer paper. I think it worked out well on this. Here’s a look at that Woven Threads Designer Series Paper.

The flower is from the lovely Good Morning Magnolia stamp set. I heat embossed it also and then colored in with Watercolor Pencils. After coloring, I used a Blender Pen to smooth out the coloring. The Magnolia Memory Dies made it easy to cut out the flower. The final touch was to add a little knot of the Very Vanilla Scalloped Lace Trim.

Oh So Eclectic Wedding Wishes

Yes, I am featuring the Oh So Eclectic stamp set again. I just can’t help myself. We made a card something like this is my classes this month and I tweaked it just a bit to create a wedding (or anniversary) card for the Global Design Project Theme Challenge.

Design Notes for Oh So Eclectic Wedding Card:

As much as I love playing with the stamp set, I think the part of the card that was the most fun, was using the Embossing Paste. I created a mask using one of the Thinlits from the Eclectic Layers Thinlits and some Window Sheet. Then used it just like I would any other mask. The flowers were stamped in two steps, first the solid flower image where I used Sweet Sugarplum ink, then the details image with Berry Burst ink. I finished it off with some Wink of Stella. The “Marriage is a journey” sentiment is from the Flourishing Phrases stamp set. I love the sentiment for the inside from that set as well.

Blooms & Wishes for Wedding

Well, I know it’s not wedding season, but people do get married all year round. In my quest to have on hand some cards for various occasions, I made several wedding cards. I used the Blooms & Wishes stamp set. What a great set. It has both sentiments and lots of two step stamps. It turns out that it was the perfect card for me to show some other ways to CASE a card. So, in addition to showing you a card I’ve cased, I have a video for you!

As you will see in the video, I CASED one of my own cards. The stamp set I used with the original card has retired so I used another set, Blooms & Wishes. I also changed the colors.

Here’s a picture of the finished card, new version.Blooms & Wishes CASE card, Stampin' Up!, diannescards.com

Remember, make sure you use a Stampin’ Pierce Mat when you are using Photopolymer stamps. It adds an extra layer of cushion and assures that your stamped images will be clean and crisp.

Hope you have enjoyed the video. Please feel free to leave a comment.
