Thanks With Wishing You Well

I try to send my customers a hand made card each time they place an order with me. Last month I used the beautiful Wishing You Well stamp set for these cards.

Did you notice, I didn’t put any sentiment on the front? I think this card could be used for so many occasions, just add a sentiment on the inside and done.

Design Notes for Wishing You Well Card:

Well, I think it’s hard to choose, but maybe my favorite thing about this card is the color combination.

Maybe I’m beginning to overuse Blackberry Bliss. No, forget I said that.
Look carefully at the bow. Isn’t it amazingly real looking. Stampin’ Up! has developed a new type of stamp they call “Distinktive”. It adds more depth and detail.

This stamp set is one you will use year round. Here are some cards from the Stampin’ Up! Website, using these stamps. Notice that one of these cards is for Christmas.  Aren’t they beautiful?

Big Thanks for Shelli

Do you know who Shelli Gardner is? She is the founder of Stampin’ Up!. I’ve been lucky enough to meet her a few times and of course know a lot about her through Stampin’ Up! She has done so much for the company and for all of the demonstrators. This week Kylie Bertucci’s International Blog Highlights is featuring thank you cards for Shelli. I have met so many wonderful people and learned so much through Stampin’ Up! Not making a card for her was just not in the mix! I used the beautiful Share What You Love Specialty Designer Series Paper for her card.

She is so kind, I thought that was the perfect sentiment.

Design Notes for Share What You Love Card:

I had no hesitation about what paper to choose for this card. The Designer Paper called Share What You love was just a logical choice. Many of the sheets have a pearly finish to them. I love that. However, the sheet that I selected did not have that finish. So, I added it. All it takes is a dauber and a little Frosted White Shimmer Paint. Easy Peesey. Do you love it?

The other detail on the front of the card was the piece of Mint Macaron card stock that I cut with the Delicate Lace Edgelits. I think I even made it look better with the addition of some Mint Macaron ink that I sponged on it.

I am really loving these edgelits. Check them out. Gotta give a shout out to my friend, Brian King here. I never even noticed them in the catalog but once I saw them on his web site, I had to have them! See his card using these here.

When I first started designing the card, I used some vellum with the Edgelit. I decided that wasn’t really what I wanted and put the piece aside. But wait, after I sponged it, it was perfect as a little addition for the inside. Let nothing go to waste!

Falling For Leaves – One More Time

How could I not love a stamp set that has coordinating dies and create things for my favorite season? That’s the case for the Falling  For Leaves Bundle. It’s just the best stamp set and just to make it all better, a great set of coordinating Thinits.

Falling for Leaves stamp set, Detailed Leaves Thinlits, Sprig Punch, Pretty Label Punch, Stampin' Up!, diannescards.com, #GDP160

The layout for this card was inspired by a beautiful card presented over at Global Design Project this week. Isn’t it beautiful? #GDP160

Design Notes for Falling For Leaves Card:

Well, to say I followed the plan/sketch of the card might be a little bit of an exaggeration, but I think it’s close enough. The copper leaf is probably my favorite part. After I cut that one out, I did the solid shape leaf with Merry Merlot. A few sprigs, some lacy trim and a sentiment to finish off. I started to put it together and realized that background piece needed something. I used the large leaf stamp from Falling for Leaves but stamped off some of the ink before stamping. It was such fun to put together. Perhaps, I will make a bunch more to send to my customers for October orders.

Go Team:

You know, I received the Falling for Leaves stamp set long before the Occasions catalog went live. That’s because I am a Stampin’ Up Demonstrator. It’s just one of the great things about being a demonstrator. You get the good things first!

Another advantage to being a demonstrator, and it’s a big thing, the discount. You start with 20% and work up from there.

But getting things early and at a discount are not even the best things about becoming a demonstrator. I love creating and then sharing what I love with others. If you like that also, you should think about becoming a demonstrator. It doesn’t necessarily mean doing classes. There are other ways you can share.

You can sign up anytime, It’s only $99 for the Starter Kit. You get to pick whatever things you want. Oh, and you get to pick $125 worth of things! And – BONUS BONUS – pay no shipping on that order!

Please email me ([email protected])  if you have any questions. I’d love to have your join our team – no matter where you live. If you are ready to join, just click below.

Frosted Floral for Fun Fold Friday

I think that you know that each Friday I try to feature a different fold for a card. In addition, I write up a photo tutorial to go along with it so that you can try out the folds yourself. This week I have a variation on a fold I did a few weeks ago. The fold is a Z fold but it’s a bit different because of the way I used the Designer Series Paper. In a spate a real creativity, I’m calling it Designer Series Paper Z fold.

I was also inspired to create this by this week’s challenge over at Global Design Project. Hop on over there to see some beautiful cards!

#GDP159

I think this card is both fallish and shows some love!

Design Notes for Frosted Floral Card:

Z fold cards are just fun. This one is a little tweek on that and is equally fun. I used Designer Paper to create the z fold. This works fine with most Designer Papers but is especially good with the more sturdy papers. I must say, this card is perhaps a little busier than I usually present. The Designer Paper has a great pattern of flowers, then I stamped flowers on the sentiment piece. But, I think it works! Good to step outside my box from time to time! The flower stamps from the Abstract Impressions stamp set are simple stamped. the set has other stamps that you can use to add more depth and details but I went with just the single stamping. Call me a rebel. The directions for the fold are in the tutorial. Designer Series Paper Z Fold Card

Fun with Shimmer Paint

Who knew!?  I’m loving Shimmer Paint. It’s been sitting on my shelf for a few weeks and yesterday was the day. Now I’ll have to stop myself from using it for everything.

Frost White Shimmer Paint, Daisy Delight stamp set, Stampin' Up!, diannescards.com

The color combination for this card came from the Global Design Project challenge for this week. You know, I can never turn down a good color challenge. Click on the banner below to go to the GDP website to see all of the great card made with this color combination.

#GDP157, Stampin' Up!, diannescards.com

Design Notes for Shimmer Paint Card:

Well, I really did have fun with the Shimmer Paint. I tried stamping then adding Shimmer Paint, adding the Shimmer Paint after the stamping, Then I tried stampin with Shimmer Paint. Oh Yeah! Here are some of my trial efforts!

Frost White Shimmer Paint, Daisy Delight stamp set, Stampin' Up!, diannescards.com

I ended up liking all of them but for this card, I used some of the daisies that I made by actually stamping with the Shimmer paint. The Paint comes in a little bottle. Shake it well, then you can use a Dauber to add the paint to the stamp.

Frost White Shimmer Paint, Daisy Delight stamp set, Stampin' Up!, diannescards.com

The other daisies on the card were stamped off before I stamped onto the Whisper White card stock. I used the “Thank You” sentiment from Daisy Delight stamp set with some Mint Macaron ink. After I cut it out with a Framelits from the Lakeside Framelits set, I sponged around the edge to give it a little pop.

The final touch was to scatter some Faceted Gems around the card.
