Some friends of ours recently moved into a new home. I went to visit recently and took this card and a large pot of flowers, just about the same color as the ones on this card. (No pumpkins, I slipped up on that.)
I’ve made similar cards before with thi stamp set but I think this is my favorite. See the other cards here and here.
Design Notes for New Home Card:
I had the best time making this card. The pot of flowers and the pumpkins were fun to color. I used my Stampin’ Blends and always feel very artistic when I use them. I also used the Blends to highlight areas of the door.
The Framelits made it easy to cut out the flowers and the door.

We have new neighbors! We love our community and are always happy when someone new moves in. The blue heron is on all the signs for our community. So, when I saw the stamp set, Lilypad Lake in the new Annual Catalog, I knew i had to have it. It was the perfect choice to make a new home card for our new neighbors.
This week’s sketch challenge over at Global Design Project was just the right thing for this card and was totally my layout inspiration. Just click on the icon below to go over to Global Design Project and be inspired!
Design Notes for Lilypad Lake Card:
I checked some website to make sure that the stamp is really a heron. It may be an egret, which is in the heron family. (We also sometimes have egrets in the community.) Anyway, I stamped the bird in Smoky Slate ink and added a dash of Wink of Stella. (Is there anything that isn’t lovelier with Wink of Stella?) I pulled out some of the sweet new color, Soft Sea Foam for the background and also stamped with Soft Sea Foam ink at the bottom. I sponged a bit at the top with Pool Party ink and wrapped some Silver Thread around the middle. That’s pretty much all there was.
Oh, do you love the Framelits for the sentiment? They are from the Lakeside Framelits. Those framelits and the Lilypad Lake stamp set are a bundle. And what do I always say? “Buy the bundle. Save 10%. Be 100% happy.”

We have some neighbors who moved from one home to a smaller home but still in our neighborhood. So glad they are still in ‘our ‘hood’. Of course, a new home card was in order. And where else would I turn but At Home with You stamp set? This time, I used the Vertical Greetings stamp set as well. It’s all about the right sentiments.
What do you think of the Wood Texture Designer Series paper as one of the layers? I thought it was sort of house looking.
Design Notes for New Home Card:
What a fun card to create! First, I stamped the door and flower pot on some Very Vanilla card stock. The “Welcome” mat was cut from the Soft Suede mat behind the Wood Texture paper. I call it hidden punching/cutting. Stamp and cut out in the middle of the paper and no one knows!
Next, I had some fun coloring the door and flower pot with Stampin’ Blends – one of my favorite things to do! Here’s a close up of the flowers, a mix of Daffodil Delight and Calypso Coral.
There is a congrats sentiment in the At Home With You stamp set but I thought it was a bit small and really liked the idea of stamping a sentiment along side the door. That was a perfect spot for the congrats from the Vertical Greetings stamp set.

You can make lots of different cards with this stamp set, not just new home cards. Here is another card I made using this stamp set and the Framelits.
One of the great things about being a card maker is that you get to recognize and celebrate all sorts of occasions, mostly happy ones. Buying a new home is one of those really BIG occasions. Purchasing a new home lets you dream about all the times to come, memories to be made during each season of the year. So the Color Theory Card Pack seemed just the thing to make this special new home card.
That’s the inside of the card. Here is the front.
This week’s Global Design Project challenge was my inspiration. This week the challenge was to create a card reflecting some new beginning.
Design Notes for Color Theory Card Pack New House Card:
I had such fun with this card! For each season, I used one of the cards from the card set. Each of the cards reflects one of the seasons. The cards are actually intended for memory keeping. But, who’s looking! Here’s a close up of the pack.
I also used a few of the cardstock stickers. You can see them when you look at the front of the card. Each stickers represents one of the seasons.
I also used the Seasonal Layers Thinlits to dress up each of the pages. I added some layers of flowers on the spring page (and Wink of Stella!) and a little drink cup on the summer page.
For the fall page, I layered some leaves and on winter, I added some sparkly snowflakes.
The front was just layered card stock and a sentiment I put together from the At Home with You stamp set. On the back, I will write something about wishing every season in their new home will be happy!

Hope you are having a great day. We are expecting some snow flurries here but that’s just winter!
My mother used to say, “Life is short, celebrate everything”. I love to make cards, especially for happy occasions. One of my favorites is to make new home cards. It’s such a significant time, the beginning of so many memories. So, I was pleased to be able to make a card for a lovely friend who is buying a new home. I know that she and her family will make many great memories there.
This was my first official creation with this At Home With You stamp set and Framelits. I love it. I can see Thanksgiving cards and Chtismas cards created with this as well.
Design Notes for New House Card:
My newest favorite technique is using Embossing Paste. I took a little paste and dyed it with some Crumb Cake Ink Refill for the bricks. One of the masks in the Pattern Party Decorative Masks set worked perfectly for that. The front door was a little trickier. I stamped the door image with Cajun Craze ink and quickly added some Clear Stampin’ Emboss Powder. That made it easier to paint in the sections of the door with an Aqua Painter and some Cajun Craze ink. The darker sections I colored with the Early Espresso Watercolor Pencil and then blended with a Blender Pen. My desk was full of tools by the time I finished!
I even did a little something on the inside. Don’t you love that little basket of flowers?
