“If Winter comes, can Spring be far behind?” I guess after all the recent wind, rain, snow and general cold weather, I am needing a little spring. The so sweet stamp set, Fable Friends, seems to have just the right things – baby ducks and a spring welcome.
The layout for this card was inspired by this week’s challenge over at Global Design challenge. Click here or on the banner to go to the website and check out all the great cards and projects.
Design Notes for Fable Friends Card:
I loved making this card. I got to color! What fun. After I stamped the Mama and baby ducks with Basic Gray, I used some Watercolor Pencils to color them in and then used a Blender Pen to soften and even out the colors. When I put some card stock behind the image, it looked a little flat. Simple Stripes Embossing Folder to the rescue. I embossed a piece of Whisper White card stock – twice. It was embossed one way then the other. Next, I used a Stamping Sponge and some Balmy Blue ink to highlight the stripes. Just the right touch, don’t you think?
My last touch was to add some Gingham Gala Designer Paper to the envelope flap.

Once Easter is here, it HAS to feel like spring, right? Well, I have known some times when that wasn’t true but I have high hopes for this year. We NEED spring. And the Hello Easter stamp set is perfect for bringing spring on.
I joined in on the challenge over at Global Design Project this week as well. You should hop on over and see all the great cards there. (Get it, “Hop on over.”)
Design Notes for Hello Easter Card:
The stand out portion of this card has to be the Basket Weave embossed piece. This is the most amazing embossing folder. It is very thick and creates a very deep impression on the paper. Love it! I even sponged it with some Berry Burst Ink to make it stand out just a bit more.
And the chocolate rabbit, how cute is that? I stamped it on some Whisper White card stock, punched it out with the 1 1/2″ Circle Punch. Next, I stamped him again and cut it out with Paper Snips. Finally, I popped him up with some Mini Stampin’ Diminsionals.
Supply List for Hello Easter Card:
Would you like to get the terrific embossing folder that I used for this card? I thought you would. You only have a few days left. You need to place an order by Saturday night. This item is bundled with the beautiful Blossoming Basket stamp set. Purchase $100 in stamping goodies and you can select this bundle.
Hope you are having a great day!
I know that spring will come soon. We did not get snow in the recent Nor’easter but got lots of wind and rain and weather that causes me to long for Spring. And the stamp set, You’re Inspiring, is filled with daffodils and makes me feel that indeed spring will come.
Don’t you love daffodils!
Design Notes for Daffodils Card:
This is one of the cards we will be making in my March card classes. But if you can’t come to my class, you can still make this card. I have a tutorial prepared for you. Just click on You’re Inspiring card tutorial. This tutorial contains a supply list, measurements, photos and step by step directions. The card can also be made into a birthday greeting.
I think the bit of Linen Thread really finished this card!

The My Hero stamp set is special to me and to lots of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators. When you purchase the My Hero stamp set , Stampin’ Up! makes a donation to the Ronald McDonald House Charities. This set has a different sentiment for many different holidays and occasions. I think the Easter one is really cute. Here’s my latest card using this wonderful stamp set.
Hard to see in this picture but behind the swirly, there is Silver Thread. Really gives it a little glitz, just a little.
Design Notes for My Hero Easter Card:
Do you see the swirly piece of card stock behind the sentiment? It’s multicolored. All that is needed is to use sponge daubers and sponge some areas of the colors you want. In this case, I used Mint Macaron and Sweet Sugarplum. Just swirl it around and then take you paper to your Big Shot and use the big circular swirly flower from the Swirly Scribbles set of Thinlits. Remember to use your Precision Base Plate to get a nice clean cut that is easy to remove.
The sentiment was easy. I used the Sweet Sugarplum marker and the Mint Macaron marker directly on the stamp. Here’s a video I did some time ago that shows this technique.

Hope you are having a good day!
I know that the calendar doesn’t say spring. The weather isn’t feeling spring like. But, I’m ready for spring. We haven’t had lots of snow in lower Delaware but lots of cold, windy days. Yes, I’m ready for spring. And what says spring more than the Easter Bunny? Here’s one decorating one of our Mini Egg Cartons.
Pretty cute, right? I made this one and will make a few more as door prizes for my April card classes. And yes, they are filled with candy!
Design Notes for Bunny Mini Egg Cartons:
It took me longer to figure out just how to make this than to really do the work. I’m hoping the next three will go quickly.
As you can see, it’s really a combination of ovals from the Nesting Ovals Framelits Dies and circles from the Nesting Circles Framelits Dies, On some other website, I can’t recall where, I saw that someone punched a tiny heart from the Owl Builder Punch, adhered a Glue Dot then attached a piece of White Bakers’s Twine and ”shredded” the twine. I used my Piercing Tool to separate the threads of the twine. About the eyes. I used a black permanent marker to color two Perfect White Enamel Dots.
The bunny paws, the Easter eggs, the bow tie and the carrot were made using dies from the Pyramid Pals Dies. I quite honestly just went through all my dies looking for rabbit parts! Creativity at its best.
