It’s aI think this title sounds like I’m off to a safari in Africa! I wish! Animal Expedition is the name of a package of fabulous Designer Series Paper. I used it for my card for this week’s sketch challenge over at Try Stampin’ on Tuesday.
I’m not sure if the frog looks happy or scared! Maybe all the alligators have him a little worried.
Here’s the sketch from this week’s Try Stampin’ on Tuesday challenge.
Design Notes For Animal Expedition Card:
Well, as usual, I changed the challenge up a bit. I changed the orientation of the card, but that’s okay!
The Animal Outing stamp set is really one of my favorites. I used one of the cute sentiments and the stamp of the frog on a branch. A little coloring with Watercolor Pencils and I was finished most of the card. I wrapped a bit of Black Baker’s Twine across the top. A layer or two, placed it on the Animal Expedition Designer Paper and done! Sometimes the best cards are the easiest!

I received a card in a swap a few weeks ago. The technique used on the card probably has a name but I don’t know it. It’s something like the eclipse technique but not exactly. I used the Nature’s Roots Framelits for my version.
What do you think? Maybe it should be called reverse eclipse?
Design Notes for Nature’s Roots Framelits Card:
Here’s how I made this card.
First, I cut the tree from the Mossy Meadow card stock using the Nature’s Roots Framelits.
Next, I placed the piece of Mossy Meadow on my Stamparatus.
The next step was to place the stamp in the opening.
Now, to close the plate to pick up the stamp in just the right place.
Finally, remove the Mossy Meadow piece and replace with the piece to be stamped on. The stamp is in just the right place.
Now, wasn’t that easy?
Once I inked up the stamp, I replaced the Mossy Meadow ink with some Early Espresso on the trunk, using a Stampin’ Write Marker.
The last thing to know is that after I heat embossed, I added the Mossy Meadow Layer to the stamped layer with Foam Adhesive Strips. So easy.

This has been a busy week. All week long, I kept thinking about the challenge over at Global Design Project. The sample is beautiful. I really liked the colors and layout and so decided as soon as I had a chance, I’d work on designing something. I love the Climbing Orchid stamp set and determined to use that as the centerpiece of the card.
Here’s the sample from Global Design Project for this week. It’s beautiful, isn’t it? Hop on over and see all the samples.
Design Notes for Climbing Orchid Card:
I loved that Charlet used both Very Vanilla and Whisper White card stock on her card. The Very Vanilla provides a soft background and the Whisper White lets the center piece pop. Well, I more or less did the same thing on my card. To add some shine for this one I chose to use the Champagne Foil. I used some Rich Razzleberry ink on Petal Pink card stock for one of the background pieces. The Sheet Music background stamp is one of my favorites. I sponged both of the Whisper White pieces and the Petal Pink Sheet Music piece to add a soft touch. And did you notice the piece of Delightfully Detailed Laser cut Specialty Paper in the background? That paper is so versatile.
Supply List for Climbing Orchid Card:
The Sheet Music background stamp comes in either wood mount or clear mount. I, personally, prefer the wood mount for large stamp. But, it’s really personal preference.

It’s true.Today is World Giraffe Day. I decided to celebrate this amazing animal by making a card with the Animal Outing stamp set. It’s the first time I used this set and I’m in love!
Can that giraffe be any cuter?
Design Notes for Animal Outing Card:
This stamp set is part of a suite of products, the Animal Expedition Suite. The Animal Friends Framelits dies helped me cut out the cute giraffe. The Leaf Ribbon was just too tempting for me. I had to offer the sweet giraffe something to eat! I embossed the Shaded Spruce card stock with the Petal Burst Embossing Folder, a faithful standby from last year’s catalog. Here’ a look at the stamp set. I know you will see more of this. I have already stamped, colored and cut the kangaroo!
Really, this stamp set even makes a rhino look adorable!
I think my favorite part of the card is the inside. First I stamped then sentiment, then stamped off a few leaves with Shaded Spruce ink. Then, using Glue Dots, I added a bit of the Leaf Ribbon. Almost too much cuteness!
The Animal Outing stamp set is part of a bundle. remember, buy the bundle, save 10%, be 100% happy.

It seems I just can’t help myself. I keep reaching for the Love What You Do stamp set. The stamp set images are just perfect when paired with the share What You Love Designer Paper. This time I kicked it all up a notch by adding the Delightfully Detailed Laser Cut Specialty Paper.
I was inspired by this week’s sketch at Try Stampin’ on Tuesday. You should think about adding something to our challenge! This is such a great sketch!
Design Notes for Love What You Do Card:
As soon as I saw the sketch, I knew I was going to take a bit of liberty with the design and use an oval cut opening from the Delightfully Detailed Paper. These papers are so beautiful. You just don’t need to do much to make it shine.
These sheets are vanilla on one side and white on the other. They can be cut apart and used for cards or scrap book pages. Each package has four of each sheet. Lots of fun here.
I first stamped the background in Powder Pink on a piece of Whisper White card stock,. So that the background would be faint, I stamped off first. Then I stamped the sentiment in Rich Razzleberry. The 1/4″ Velvet Ribbon was the perfect touch for the bottom of the laser cut piece. It needed just one more detail. I finally came up with using one of the Faceted Dots. Even though the Dot color is Blackberry Bliss, I thought it was just right.
