Our upstairs air conditioning unit has died. The entire system needs to be replaced. And, of course, we are in the midst of a string of really, really, hot days. My craft room has just gotten a bit too hot for me. So, working on the new Paper Pumpkin downstairs is perfect. This month’s kit, Picnic Paradise was just lots of fun.
I thought about using the little baskets for candy or treats and keeping the cards separate but have decided to keep them together. They are just too cute.
It’s Time to Join!
This week I’ve been able to welcome two new people to our Stampin’ Up team, Di’s Divas. They are both so excited to be part of Stampin’ Up! One gal plans to be a hobby demonstrator. She’ll buy things for herself and maybe some family members or friends. She told me she wants to come home from work and do something creative! Sounds like a good plan to me. The other gal was a demonstrator years ago and now wants to have classes again. I know she will be a success, she already has great plans for her first class. I welcome both of these folks into our team. Being a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator can be whatever you want it to be (with at least a 20% discount!)
Think that it’s time for you to join? Or rejoin? Just click on the image below . Remember you get $125 in merchandise for just $99 with FREE shipping. And, of course, that’s not all! This month only, you can select a set of ten ink pads for FREE! Call or email me if you have any questions or if I can help you in any way. I’d love to have you join our team.
Thanks so much for stopping by today.
P.S. Just in case you didn’t believe me, here’s a shot of the upstairs thermostat yesterday afternoon.
Monday Memory Keeping
For the last few weeks, I’ve been trying to devote part of my weekends to catching up on my scrap booking. I think I am like most scrapbookers and am a bit behind. This past weekend, I worked on updating my Stampin’ Up! scrapbook. I keep a book with pictures and memorabilia from all of the terrific Stampin’ Up! events I attend. Here are a few pages from the On-Stage Local event in Richmond I attended last April. The highlights are from the Sweet Soiree Memories & More Cards.
Doesn’t it look like a lot of fun!? I always a have a great time at a Stampin’ Up! event.
Sweet Soiree Memories & More Cards:
These cards are perfect if you like to work quickly. Paired with the Variety Pack of Photo Pocket Pages you can preserve your memories quickly. Sometimes I like to do large layouts, with lots of details but more and more, I am finding it’s more about the memories and less about the elaborate pages.
Oh and here’s the best part, the Sweet Soiree Memories & More Cards are FREE. Well, at least for a few more days.
This great pack of cards is one of the items you can select if you purchase $50 or more. But you have to hurry, Sale-A-Bration will be over Saturday night!
Remember, you can also use these cards to create VERY QUICK greeting cards!
Really, this card took me no time!

The other day I used Vertical Greetings for part of the new home card I made. It reminded me that it had been too long since that set had seen ink. I remedied that problem yesterday. May is a month of so many birthdays that I didn’t need to think twice about which sentiment to use.
I love the Serene Scenery paper in the background. Sadly it is retiring. We know there will be new paper we will love just as much but just the same…
Design Notes Vertical Greetings Card:
I love the little potted tree in the Vertical Greetings set. I used some Stampin’ Write Markers directly on the stamp to get the three colors. If you aren’t familiar with this technique check out my Video Tutorials page. (Marker to Stamps Techniques is about 13 down the list.)
Are you wondering where Vertical Greetings meets Timeless Textures? Look carefully at the Island Indigo background piece, I was searching for something to put on that piece that would echo the circles in the Serene Scenery piece. I used Island Indigo Ink stamped off once on Island Indigo cardstock to give just a subtle look. I was pretty happy with it!
Supply List for Vertical Greetings card:
Both the Vertical Greetings and Timeless Textures stamp sets come in both clear mount and wood mount. Always nice to have choices.

Here are a few recent Paper Pumpkin Projects I’ve completed.
Have a great week end. Snowed in? If you have a Paper Pumpkin kit ready to go, then you are all set!
On Thursday I had four teeth pulled. Pretty much a lost day. So, what did I do on Friday? More ice, some rinsing, nothing too strenuous. But, I was, according to my husband, “more alert”. I enjoyed some soup that good neighbors brought me. But, I was itching to do something “stampy”
Here’s task one. I’m reorganized my Paper Pumpkin stamps in my Project Life Album. I have a book set aside for that but decided to reorganize the stamps by category, rather than by just putting in the next month. Putting the stamps in a Project Life Album is such a great system – not original to me but one I embrace.
Organizing Paper Pumpkin Stamps:
Once I finish with my monthly Paper Pumpkin kit, I put the stamps in a Project Life Photo Pocket Page. Up until now, It’s been pretty random. I decided to organize them by occasion, holidays, birthday, etc.
Organizing Paper Pumpkin stamps:
If you are going to organize you stamps, first, gather them all together,Then sort them. Sometimes the sets cover multiple holidays or events, like thanks and birthday in the same set. So, some sets are broken up.
Here are the categories I ended up with:
- Thank You
- Hello/Get Well / Thinking of You
- Christmas / Fall Holidays
- Valentine / Mother’s Day/ Father’s Day
- Sympathy / Miscellaneous
Next I took some white board that you get in the packages of Designer Paper and created dividers.
I labeled the dividers, punched holes on the side, and inserted them in the book.
You may want to cut some card stock to place behind the stamps so that you can see them better.
If you have the stamps organized in a way that makes sense to you, you will use them more often. I like to have my book out for all of my classes so that if folks want to change the sentiment, it’s easy for them.
What’s on for tomorrow?
