Floral Phrases Farewell

The Floral Phrases stamp set and Detailed Floral Thinlits have been in the catalog for a few years. It was pretty predictable that this year they would retire. Nonetheless, I am sad to see them go. Such lovely detail and interest. I decided to use the Thinlits for this month’s card class door prize. I also made this month’s thank you card using the Floral Phrases stamp set.

tThe card is actually CASed (Copy and share) from a recent post by Candy Rattray. I just loved it and had to make my own.

Design Notes for Floral Phrases Card and Box:

The box is just like one I made last week. Did you see my post about attending the tea and the favors I made? Check out my post here to see what I made and the tutorial for the treat box.

Here’s a close up of the box I made for my classes. I think the ribbon to close it is so pretty. The silver edge on the ribbon goes so nicely with the Silver Foil Paper behind the cut out.

Tea Together Treats

Yesterday I went to a lovely tea. It was a fund raiser for a group my BFF is involved with. In addition to tea and lovely treats, there was a terrific a capella group. All in all, a lovely afternoon. Of course, I wanted to make some treats for everyone at the table and created these little boxes. I used the Tea Together stamp set from the Occasions catalog.

The box held three Ghirardelli chocolates.

Design Notes for Tea Together Treat Box:

It’s never a bad day when I get to use my Stampin’ Blends markers. The tea cups and flowers were stamped with Rich Razzleberry ink then colored in with the Blends. The Framelits made them easy to cut out. I used some Old Olive card stock to make a belly band around the little container I made.

The box was really easy. Here are the measurements and directions if you’d like to make one.

  • Cut card stock to 4 1/2″ x 7 1/2″

treat box, Tea Together, Stampin' Up!, diannescards.com

  • Score along long side at 2″, 2 3/4″, 4 3/4″ and 5 1/2″.

  • Score along short side at 3/4″ and 3 1/2″. (3/4″ from each side.)

  • Fold on score lines.
  • Cut as shown below, red lines indicate cutting.

  • If you want to add Designer Paper use two pieces cut 2″ x 3″ and one piece cut 3/4″ x 3″ (Cut slightly smaller if you want a little card stock to show. )
  • Adhere Designer paper.
  • Use Tear & Tape to hold box together.
  • Create a belly band from 1″ x 8 1/2″ piece of card stock.
  • Decorate as you wish.

The stamp set and Framelits I used will carry over to the new catalog. However, the Share What You Love Specialty Designer Series Paper is going to retire. Be sure to add some to your order.

Easter Treats with Fable Friends

Each month I hold four card classes at various times and days. From time to time, I like to spoil my friends who faithfully attend and, I think, enjoy class. This month I made a little treat for everyone to celebrate spring and Easter. The sentiment from Fable Friends made it easy and cute!

I only used a sentiment from the Fable Friends stamp set, but you should look at this adorable set of images.

Design Notes for Fable Friends Treats:

Oh gosh. these were easy. I picked three colors and stamped some of the sort of sunburst image on Whisper White.

Accented Blooms stamp set, Stampin' Up!, diannescards.comNext, I stamped the sentiments in the same three colors and punched them out with the Duet Banner punch.

A little Tear & Tape to hold everything together and they were done. Here’s a look at all of them!

I think it was during October that Stampin’ Up! offered the Dashing Along Designer Series Paper as a bonus for holding an event. All Wrapped Up in Country Lane

Honestly, I wasn’t going to send out a blog post today. If you receive my Newsletter (and I hope you do), today you received a tutorial for a lotion holder. Tomorrow is Thanksgiving here. Though we are only having six for dinner, I’ve got lots to do. However, I saw a really cute candy holder on Pootles website early this morning and decided I had to make some for our table with some pieces of Country Lane Designer Paper that I had left over.

Country Lane Designer Series Paper, Envelope Punch Board, table favors, Thanksgiving, Stampin' Up!, diannescards.com

The size is a bit different than the ones that Pootles made but it was pretty easy to make the adjustment.

Design Notes for Country Lane Treat Holders:

Since I used Ghirardelli Square Mints for my treats, I had to change the size. I ended up using 4″ x 4″ pieces of Country Lane Designer Series Paper and punched and scored at 2″ on the Envelope Punch Board.

Country Lane Designer Series Paper, Envelope Punch Board, table favors, Thanksgiving, Stampin' Up!, diannescards.com

I added just a bit of adhesive on one flap and closed around the mint. To decorate, I used some Linen Thread, Corrugated Elements and some of the Leaves Trinkets. Done!

I know these will look great on my table with the Napkin Rings I made with the October Paper Pumpkin materials. See that post here.
