Scallop Tag Topper Card for Fun Fold Friday

It’s Friday! I’ll confess, I used to be more excited about Friday when I was working. But, that’s a story for another time! Now Friday means “Fun Fold” and today will not disappoint. I’ve gone to an oldie that I think you will like, the Scallop Tag Topper Card with a Halloween twist.

I think I m beginning to embrace purple as a Halloween color. Took me long enough. And is that spider just the cutest!

Design Notes for Scallop Tag Topper  Card:

This card is so much easier than it looks! Creating the little tab closure is easy. A few years back, I made a video to show how it is done. The video has a few little rough spots – it was one of my first videos – but the directions are clear.

I also decorated the inside with some extra of the adorable Toil & Trouble Designer Series Paper.

And, I couldn’t help myself, I decorated the envelop as well!

Have a Great Trip!

My BFF left yesterday for a trip to Verona, Italy. I know she will have a wonderful time. I wanted to send her off with a few treats and, of course, a hand made travel card. It was easy to think of the Waterfront stamp set to create an Italian countryside picture. I had to search a bit to come upon the sentiment. Do you know which stamp set it is from?

I won’t keep you in suspense any longer, the sentiment is from Sea of Textures. Did you guess that?

Design Notes for Waterfront Travel Card:

I think it took me longer to select the colors than to actually make the card! It’s so easy to create a tranquil scene with the Waterfront stamps – mountains, lakes, rivers, evergreen trees, palm trees, little cottage – all are possible with this set. Here’s a close up look at the stamps in the Waterfront stamp set.

This stamp set is photopolymer and so it was easy to line up the palm tree trunks and branches. When you look at the Supply List below, you will notice that I’ve listed a Stampin’ Pierce Mat in the supplies. When you use photopolymer stamps, it’s best to stamp on a mat. You will get a nice clear image that way.

I know you probably can’t see it, but I added some Wink of Stella on the water. It’s never a mistake to add some Wink of Stella!

Falling For Leaves – One More Time

How could I not love a stamp set that has coordinating dies and create things for my favorite season? That’s the case for the Falling  For Leaves Bundle. It’s just the best stamp set and just to make it all better, a great set of coordinating Thinits.

The layout for this card was inspired by a beautiful card presented over at Global Design Project this week. Isn’t it beautiful? #GDP160

Design Notes for Falling For Leaves Card:

Well, to say I followed the plan/sketch of the card might be a little bit of an exaggeration, but I think it’s close enough. The copper leaf is probably my favorite part. After I cut that one out, I did the solid shape leaf with Merry Merlot. A few sprigs, some lacy trim and a sentiment to finish off. I started to put it together and realized that background piece needed something. I used the large leaf stamp from Falling for Leaves but stamped off some of the ink before stamping. It was such fun to put together. Perhaps, I will make a bunch more to send to my customers for October orders.

But getting things early and at a discount are not even the best things about becoming a demonstrator. I love creating and then sharing what I love with others. If you like that also, you should think about becoming a demonstrator. It doesn’t necessarily mean doing classes. There are other ways you can share.

It’s a Bokeh Dots Birthday!

I recently got the Bokeh Dots stamp set and have been wanting to play with it. Yesterday was the day. i wanted to do something for Manly Monday and it seemed like a good combination.

Design Notes for Bokeh Dots Birthday:

I certainly did have some fun with this!

First, I stamped the Bokeh Dots stamp on a piece of card stock to cover all of the area. That became my layer behind the Happy Birthday part. On another piece of card stock, I really stamped all over!

Bokeh Dots stamp set, Happy birthday thinlits, masculine, Stampin' Up!, diannescards.comI used that piece to cut out the Happy Birthday..

Since I used Pear Pizzazz ink, I used a piece of Pear Pizzazz card stock for the second layer Happy Birthday.

And really, can Gold Foil Paper ever be a bad addition.

Pretty Kitty Celebrates Halloween!

Well, Pretty Kitty is one of those stamp sets that, to me, needs just the right occasions. Well, cats, Halloween, why not?

Pretty Kitty stamp set, Halloween, Stampin' Up!, diannescards.com

How cute is this little kitty prancing on the fence?

Design Notes for Pretty Kitty Halloween Card:

The kitty was fun to do. I stamped him with Basic Gray ink on Whisper White card stock. I used the light Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends marker to color him in. A little light Pumpkin Pie Blend for the cute little bow. For his ears, I used some of the Light Petal Pink Stampin’ Blend. Next, I used one of the Journaling Pens to outline his mouth and nose. Finally, I did some fussy cutting with my Paper Snips.

The fence was easy. I trimmed a piece of Basic Black card stock with the zig zig Framelit from the Playful Pennants Framelits set. I used my Stampin’ Trimmer to score each fence part and then sponged on just a bit of White Craft ink on each crease.

Are you wondering about the “Boo” on the front? it’s a left over from the September Paper Pumpkin kit!
