Well, when I started making the card for today’s post. I couldn’t decide what card I wanted to make. A birthday card? A graduation card? A Mother’s Day card? So, I made one of each. Crazy About You stamp has so many choices, It’s virtually the same card, each with a different sentiment.
Design Notes for Crazy About You Cards:
Don’t the flowers just pop out at you? I used Blushing Bride, Melon Mambo and Flirty Flamingo for the flowers. After you punch them out with the Medallion Flower Punch, there is still just the tiniest white line on some of the petals. All I needed to do was add a little color with Sponge Daubers and some ink. The ‘happy’ is cut from the Flirty Flamingo paper with one of the dies from Hello You set of Thinlits. The Crazy About You stamp set, the Hello You Thinlits dies and the Medallion Flower Punch are all disappearing. Yes, it’s true. they are all on the retired list. Get them while you can.
Supply List, Crazy About You Cards:
As you can see, lots of things are retiring. Believe me, there are lots and lots of great things coming too. But this is the time to get those retireing item that you want. I have provided a link to a list of currently available retiring items.
Hope you are having a great, stamping day!
Maybe you don’t recognize that name, Crafting Forever. It’s the name of a NEW stamp set from the 2017-18 Annual Catalog. I received this at a Leadership event while I was in Richmond. I just couldn’t wait any longer. This stamp set had to see some ink!
I can tell already this this is going to be one of my favorites! OH, but one of my favorite colors is here too. Unfortunately, Cucumber Crush is retiring soon. Love the ribbon? The Silver 1/8″ Satin Ribbon is on the list as well. But, get it while you can.
Most times, I create a card because I need the card for some reason. I created this card because I wanted to use this stamp set and for the Global Design Challenge. Now I love it and want to make more to send to some of my good friends! Here’s the logo and link for Global Design Challenge. The challenge was to use bling and sparkle. How do you think I did?
Design Notes for Crafting Forever Card:
Cucumber Crush is such a cheery color. I’m going to love the new In-Colors, but this is one I’m going to miss. First, I cut that paper just the same size as the front of the Note Card. I also used some scraps to punch circles as background for the scissors and sentiment. The scissors were heat embossed with Silver Heat Embossing Powder. Then, I used my Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker to add some color on the handles. I think they look just like my Paper Snips now! I’ll confess, cutting out the little finger holes was tedious, but so worth it! Finally, I added a little Silver 1/8″ Ribbon to add some shine and it was done.
However, I wasn’t finished playing with the stamps! Call in the Cucumber Crush scraps and trace around the envelope flap. Stamp and you’ve got instant cute!
Supply List for Crafting Forever stamp set:
Unfortunately, you can’t purchase the stamp set yet, but you might want to hurry and get the Cucumber Crush paper. The ink refill for Cucumber Crush has already sold out.

For two years now, Sheltering Tree has been one of my favorite stamp sets. There was something in the set for each season. But, now it is on the Retiring List. Sigh. We are having beautiful spring weather here so I decided to make a “Hello” / spring card.
What says spring more than a bike ride and a blossoming tree? OH, yeah, there is pollen. but let’s not talk about that.
Design Notes for Sheltering Tree Spring Card:
I tried to keep this card pretty simple. A little hill, a little sky, and a bike. I used some Thick Whisper White Card Stock and a Blender Pen and added some sky in Pool Party ink. Next, the tree trunk in Soft Suede ink then the leaves in Pear Pizzazz. The bike was Basic Black ink. To stamp the frame, I used Basic Black as well but stamped off first. The sentiment is from the Crazy About You stamp set and stamped in Pool Party ink.
Supply List for Sheltering Tree Spring Card:
Sheltering Tree in one of the retiring set, Crazy About You also. So, if you love them, get them now!

As I mentioned yesterday, I was hankering to do some heat embossing. It’s one of my favorite techniques. I actually did two things on this anniversary card that are a little different twist on embossing. Flourishing Phrases was the stamp set I started with. Take a look at my creation. Can you see the two different ways I embossed?
Design Notes for Flourishing Phrases Anniversary card:
Did you see the embossing? I stamped the flowers in Watermelon Wonder ink, using a pad that I had just added reinker to, and then quickly added some Clear Embossing Powder. Then I used the Heat Tool and behold – shiny flower. I did each flower separately. Same process for the leaves. It’s a little addictive. Since I was on an embossing roll, so to speak, I decided to stamp the sentiment in VersaMark and then used Copper Heat Emboss Powder.
The flowers looked like they needed something so I used the Flourish Thinlits dies and some Copper Foil Paper to make the little flowers for the center. Still needed something. Ah Ha moment. I used VersaMark and some Copper Embossing Powder on the pearls. A little hit from the Heat Tool and you have copper pearls! Cool, right? Here’s a close up on the Pearls.
Supply list for Flourishing Phrases Anniversary card:
Something to note. The Flourishing Phrases stamp set and Flourish Thinlits are currently a bundle. Buy them together and save 10%. If you wait until after May 31, you can still buy both but they are not in a bundle. Act wisely!
I hope you are enjoying a nice weekend. The weather here in lower Delaware is terrific. Makes it a little hard to stay inside and stamp BUT my Paper Pumpkin arrived Friday afternoon so I hear the call. Perhaps tomorrow I’ll show you what’s inside. IT IS SO COOL!
