Whenever a new catalog comes out, that means some things are retiring. I get excited about wonderful, new things but also a little sad about some of the things that will be retiring. Pick a Pennant is one of the retiring stamp sets. I’m glad I had one more chance to show it to you before it departs. I made some birthday party invitations for Goddaughter Anne Marie’s daughter Lia who will turn 6 very soon. She wanted a cat themed party. What do you think of my punch art cat?

Design Notes for Pick A Pennant Invitation:

I think if you are almost six, like cats and purple this invitation is a hit! I had fun figuring out how to make the cat. Lots of punches, some sponging and a little drawing.

  • Head- 2″ Circle Punch
  • Ears – Cut free hand
  • Eyes – White part, 1/2″ Circle punch, Black part from the Cookie Cutter Builder Punch
  • Nose – Also from Cookie Cutter Builder Punch, half of the bow!
