In the winter, I seem to need a fair number of get well cards. Right now, everyone in my world seems to be doing okay. Hopefully, it will stay that way. But since the Humming Along stamp set is going to retire soon, I decided to make a few more cards for get well with that set.
I also wanted to make a card for this week’s Global Design Project challenge, to CASE the designer. Turns out, the designer this time is my friend, Brian King. So, I knew the card would have to have a layer or two! Layers seem to be his M.O. I also noticed that he made a get well card so I used that idea as well.

Design Notes for Humming Along Get Well Card:
As you can see, I once again, had fun with my Stampin’ Blends. That flower just calls out to be colored. I could have used markers or Color Pencils, but I was on a roll with the Blends. I also used this card in my card classes this month and everyone enjoyed using the Blends. Such as easy way to get some very spiffy looking color!
When I made my sample for the class, I had layered the Highland Heather and then the Soft Sea Foam card stock. I added the flower, sentiment and ribbon. Looked good to me. However in class, someone suggested that we emboss the Soft Sea Foam layer with the Subtle Embossing folder. Winner! I think you can see the texture it added in the picture below.

Have you thought about becoming a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator? It does NOT mean that you have to hold classes or sell millions each year! What it does mean is that you can purchase whatever you want for 20 or even 25% off. It means you get to see and purchase items before everyone else. It means you can be part of a fun team. Call or email me if you have questions. I have many hobby demonstrators on my team. Want to be one too?
Thanks for stopping by today!
P.S. Have you had a chance to vote for my card over at Kylie Bertucci’s International Blog Highlights? I’s really appreciate it. My card is #25. Click here, find my card and click on the upper right hand corner. It’s as easy as that! Thanks!
