The day I made this card, it was rainy and windy. I stamped the tree from Sheltering Tree without any leaves to reflect the weather! A friend recently lost his grandmother and I wanted to make a special card for him. Don’t you think the trees are appropriate for a sympathy card?
While I made this card with a masculine appeal in mind, I think you could send it to anyone.
Design Notes for Sheltering Tree Card:
The central image, the trees, were stamped in Soft Suede. But, did you notice that some are darker than others? For the tree on the right, I stamped the image directly onto the card stock. For the other two trees, I stamped off. That means, I inked up the stamp, stamped on a piece of scrap paper than stamped on the card stock. This really easy technique gives some depth to the images. You can stamp off once or even two times for a great effect. Here’s the same tree stamped off two times.
For the card I made, I overlapped the trees to give the effect of a forest.
