Do you ever have trouble getting cards out for birthdays at the beginning of the month? I confess, sometimes, I do. My dear friend Rose is celebrating her birthday tomorrow. We went to both high school and college together. I didn’t want to miss her special day. I used the Treat Time stamp set to make something special for her over the weekend and, I hope, got it in the mail in time.
This card was my card for this month’s technique challenge over at Try Stampin’ on Tuesday. This month the challenge is to use stitching on your project. There are so many ways you can do this. I used a die that mimicked stitching. Go on over to the challenge site to see the great tutorial about stitching.
Design Notes for Treat Time Card:
The Stitched Label Framelits are like a hidden treasure. I used one of the dies for the Petal Pink circle. I like it because it has the openings all around the edgeand I knew I could lace some ribbon through the holes – almost like stitching, right? But the winner piece for this card was the die that cut the stitched line along the other piece of Petal Pink card stock. Doesn’t it look just like I used my sewing machine to make a row of tiny stitches?
Of course, the Share What You Love Designer Series paper is so beautiful. You can’t make a bad card with it! I used it on the bottom and cut a few flowers out of some scraps. One is one the front and one on the inside. There was one extra for the envelope.
Never one to leave well enough alone, I added a little Wink of Stella to the flower on the front of the card.
