When I am not card making, I love to cross stitch. So, as soon as I saw the Cross-Stitched Christmas stamp set in the Holiday catalog, it was ordered.
Christmas and Cross-Stitch … what’s not to love.
The layout for this card was inspired by this week’s Global Design Project sketch challenge. Hop on over and then you can see all of the great cards and projects.
Design Notes For Cross-Stitched Christmas:
Well, I had this great sketch to start with so lots of the design work was done. I decided I wanted to use the ornament from the stamp set. The easiest way to line up the highlights for the ornament is to use the Stamparatus. I used two perky shades of green, Lemon Lime Twist and Call Me Clover. Do you like the Designer Paper in the background? I think the Lovely Lipstick really brightens up the card. The paper is from the Broadway Bound Specialty Designer Series paper. Surprised?
Did you notice the shape of the sentiment? I stamped it first then punched it out with the Pretty Label Punch. After I punched it out, I thought it was a little big so then I trimmed off the top and bottom. I like the new shape and think it fits well.
By the way, I heat embossed the sentiment with Call Me Clover Embossing Powder. I love it!
