Our part time neighbor, Sue, is retiring at the end of this school year. I wanted to create something special to help her keep track of the days remaining in her outstanding career. The numerals from the Broadway Bound Specialty Designer Series Paper offered a perfect assist.
I’d guess that any teacher in America has a special relationship with the number 180. Generally, that’s the number of student days in a school year. A teacher, or in this case, a school nurse, staring work today and retiring at the end of this school year knows that there are 180 days left in her career.
I also made this card for this week’s sketch challenge over at Try Stampin’ on Tuesday.
Design Notes for Broadway Bound Card:
Well, you’ve probably figured out that I turned the sketch on it’s side so that my stripes are from right to left rather than top to bottom. The red and white paper is from the Broadway Bound Specialty Designer Series Paper package while the Blueberry Bushel paper is from the In-Color Paper Pack. I made little pocket from some Lovely Lipstick card stock. The top of each pocket was created with Everyday Label Punch. By the way, I used some Tear & Tape to adhere the little pockets to the front of the card. It’s good to use that on areas that you think will have some stress placed on them.
The numeral cards were really easy. I just cut out the numerals I needed from one of the sheets of the Broadway Bound Paper and then mounted them on Whisper White Card stock,
