Last week was Lia’s birthday. She is 5! Where did that time go? For her birthday, I am giving her “Cooking Classes with Auntie Di”. So, of course, the Apron of Love stamp set and Framelits were just perfect. I decided to add some interest to it by making it a shaker card.
The shaker card was also for the Try Stampin’ on Tuesday challenge for this month. You must go check out all of the great shaker cards. Plus there is a wonderful tutorial there. Just click the icon below to go to the site.
Design Notes for Apron of Love Card:
I knew I wanted something to act as a background to the paper where I was going to cut out the apron. Stamparatus to the rescue. I just used the stamp with the kitchen tools and by moving the Stamparatus plate each time, I was able to perfectly place the stamp. This technique works well with stamps that are about or less than one inch wide. You can use wider stamps, just skip a hinge.
Here’s a great video from Stampin’ Up! to demonstrate this technique.
