For the last few weeks, I’ve been able to play with some things from the new catalog, which goes live today! I thought that on this day I should use my favorite stamp set. Well, that proved to be too hard. I couldn’t decide which set was my favorite! So, I just went with a set I love and hadn’t show your before today, Rooted in Nature. To make it even better, Rooted in Nature is part of a bundle!
I liked it so much I made it twice. Well, actually many times since I am using it as a thank you for my May customers. I also made it for the CASE this Sketch challenge. Just click on the icon below to go to the website and see all the great cards. (In this challenge CAS(E) means Clean and Simple.)
Design Notes for Rooted in Nature Card:
To be honest, I’m not really sure if the image I stamped and cut out in the center of the card is a section of a tree or a mushroom! What do you think? Anyway, i like it. I stamped it in Soft Suede, stamping off first. Stamping off gives a lighter image and that’s what I thought would go best with the Nature’s Poem Designer Series Paper. The only other stamping was the sentiment.and the leaf. I heat embossed both of those. The sentiment is actually longer but I taped off part of the sentiment each time i inked it up then removed the tape before I stamped. I’ve shown this technique before. If you want more detail, check it out here.
The leaf was cut out with one of the Framelits from the Natures’s Roots Framelits.
One of the great things about Stampin’ Up! is that everything coordinates. All I had to do was look on the package of Designer Paper (or in the catalog) to see what colors are in the papers. Then I knew which colors I could select for the card. Do you like one better than the other?
